To have and to hessian.
Posted on 11 February 2017
Each year the trends change or evolve in the wedding world. This is usually heavily influenced by the Pantone colour of the year which this year is a beautiful shade of green. For those of us in the Industry the chosen colour usually makes sense when looking at popular wedding styles and if this colour ever worked well with one style it’s hessian. Hessian and all it’s rustic charm is definitely here to stay for 2017.
Whether you’re vintage chic or a rustic fan, hessian will probably feature in your big day. It just works, especially if you’re lucky enough to have a beautiful barn venue. Here's some of our favourite hessian ideas.
Hessian Table Runners
If you’re after that rustic wedding vibe then this is a must have decor item. Almost everything looks great over a hessian runner whether its jam jars with handpicked flowers or a vintage bird cage. Top your hessian runner with lace to soften the bold hessian look.
Dress your cake
Good news is, if you’re going for the rustic vibe for your big day you can in theory save yourself a bit of money. Order a simple (I hate the word simple when talking weddings, shall we say minimal) cake, add some hessian ribbon and voila, your rustic wedding cake dream is born.
Bag it up.
A breakaway from the standard organza favour bags, these hessian bags are a fabulous little touch for your wedding tables. They also make beautiful confetti bags.
Jars, jars, jars.
What rustic wedding would it be without an assortment of jars? If you’re a DIY bride then this is the perfect pre wedding mission for you. Collect a variety of jam jars, milk bottles, tins etc and wrap with hessian, lace or twine and there you have it. Fill with flowers or tea lights and dot on your tables and around your venue for an instant rustic affair. If you haven’t got the patience for a DIY task (because lets face it, you’ve probably got lots to organise) check out our hessian jars and votives.
The Hessian Effect.
When all else fails hessian ribbon will probably be your best friend. Simply tie around your napkins or favours for instant rustic chic. Don’t forget about your bouquets and buttonholes, hessian always look amazing alongside flowers.
Happy wedding planning,
